Nose
Intense oakiness, cedar wood, antique shop, overcooked damson fruit jam, dark chocolate, vetiver root, waves of spice, rich maple syrup, light tannins, almonds, and a hint of soft leather.
Palate
Bitter chocolate, bitter liquorice root, bitter raisins, with elegance and complexity reminiscent of very old cognacs. Deep notes of caramel, dark chocolate, and allspice play around the palate with amazing vibrancy, alongside a firm grip, astringency, highly-roasted espresso, and ancient Marsala.
Finish
Bitter and sweet, with dusty black pepper. The finish carries on the party from the palate, warming from the tip of the tongue all the way down, with a lovely long finish and a great bitter chocolate end.
