Description

Matured in a sherry butt. Born in Edinburgh in 1850, Stevenson was unable to ignore his passion for writing and travel, leaving behind a career in law to follow his dreams. Although he wrote for many years, it was the publication of 'Treasure Island' in 1883 that marked the beginning of his popularity.
