Description
This Glenfarclas was produced to commemorate the 100th anniversary of The Donside Paper Company of Aberdeen, Scotland in 1993. Donside closed in 2001. Considered among the finest of the Speyside malt distilleries and one of the few of its age to still be family-owned. J&G Grant became its sole shareholders in 1898 and continue to run it in a traditional manner, notably using direct-fired stills to create a rich, weighty spirit. Glenfarclas produces a traditional Highland malt with a heavy sherry influence, often matured in Oloroso sherry casks. [1, 6, 9]
