The Glenfarclas Family Casks series is a range of vintage single cask whiskies from one of Speyside's best distilleries. This particular release, Cask #1316, was distilled in 1968 and bottled in 2006, making it a 38-year-old expression. It was matured in a single Sherry Butt and is part of the original set of Family Cask releases. It is described as a full-bodied, deep, and mature whisky with complex fruit notes.

Nose
Intense with rich tones of honey, vanilla, liquorice, cinnamon, raisins and a hint of peat smoke.
Palate
Full-bodied, very deep and mature, complex fruits, sultanas and marmalade. Like a layered cake with fruit on top, honey, caramel and toffee in the middle, with dry oaky spiciness.
Finish
Slightly smoky finish, good length with toffee and various "dark" fruits on the tail.
