A single cask 40-year-old Glenfarclas distilled on 8th January 1971 and matured in first-fill sherry cask number 152. Bottled on 14th February 2011 at 51.6% ABV as a Family Casks Special Release specially selected for The Whisky Shop Dufftown in a limited run of 496 bottles.

Nose
Incredible warmth and depth. Spiced figs, raisins, warm treacle and worn leather. Seville orange marmalade and Black Forest Gateau. Fruit pastels, blackcurrant wine gums and the bark of an oak tree.
Palate
Rich cream with sweet spiced raisins. Bread and butter pudding, warm muffins, glazed pastry, vanilla pods and sweet warm coconut. Old fashioned wooden bar tops, polished mahogany and black pepper.
Finish
Amazing mouth filling finish with wave after wave of intense flavours. Brown sugar sweetened espresso. Old brandy warm in the glass. Warm spiced raisins and lots of mature Oloroso.
