Considered among the finest of the Speyside malt distilleries and one of the few of its age to still be family-owned. J&G Grant became its sole shareholders in 1898 and continue to run it in a traditional manner, notably using direct-fired stills to create a rich, weighty spirit. This is part of The Famous Scots Editions, a collection of cask strength, small batch Glenfarclas bottlings produced for the distillery's German agent, Hanseatische Weinhandelsgesellschaft. Each one highlights the legacy and achievements of various different Scots through history on their labels.
