Considered among the finest of the Speyside malt distilleries and one of the few of its age to still be family-owned. J&G Grant became its sole shareholders in 1898 and continue to run it in a traditional manner, notably using direct-fired stills to create a rich, weighty spirit. This rare and special vintage 1978 19 year old Glenfarclas Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is no. 3 in the special limited edition range for David Livingstone from the year 1997. It was matured for 19 years in selected sherry casks and bottled at cask strength 53.3% vol. without the addition of colourants and chill filtration. This bottling is limited to 1,200 individually numbered bottles and comes in an original wooden box.
