Description
Considered among the finest of the Speyside malt distilleries and one of the few of its age to still be family-owned. J&G Grant became its sole shareholders in 1898 and continue to run it in a traditional manner, notably using direct-fired stills to create a rich, weighty spirit. This is the fifth bottling in Glenfarclas's special limited edition series dedicated to famous Scottish figures, featuring Maria Stuart (Mary Queen of Scots). It was distilled in 1978, matured for 21 years, and bottled in 1999 at cask strength.
