Description

This impressive release is comprised of nine casks laid down in the 1930s, one cask for each of William Grant's nine children who helped build Glenfiddich distillery. The casks, four distilled in 1937, and five in 1939, were vatted on the 4th of April 1990 into single cask #90/3034 and married for a further year. It was finally bottled on the 26th of July 1991 as a limited edition of just 500 bottles. Each bottle is individually numbered and presented in a wooden case with a certificate of authenticity.

Nose
A beautifully harmonious, uplifting, vibrant and complex aroma. Delicate floral notes (rose petals and violets) are intriguingly intertwined with green tobacco leaf and oak and just a faint hint of smoke.
Palate
Initially very sweet with a zesty orange marmalade and vanilla toffee, which then cascades through a wonderful series of layers: aromatic herbs, floral and soft fruits, silky oak tannin and hints of gentle smoke.
Finish
Exceptionally long with a touch of dry oak and the merest trace of peat.
