Description

Glenfiddich Cask Collection Vintage Cask is a single malt Scotch whisky, part of the Cask Collection, which is a travel retail exclusive series. It is a rare, lightly peated Glenfiddich, matured in a combination of European and American oak (including Bourbon) casks. The whisky undergoes a final marrying in Glenfiddich's signature Solera Vat system, which ensures continuity of flavor and adds depth and complexity. Launched in 2013/2014, it is a no-age-statement expression.

Nose
Freshly cut straw and bonfire smoke, with leafy, floral notes. Also grapefruit/Meyer lemon zest, complex citrus, oak bitterness, char smoke, vanilla, peat, autumnal forest floor, ginger, white cake, and almond.
Palate
An initial burst of sweetness with vanilla, crème brûlée, and citrus, followed by a rush of smoke, burning embers, and meadow flowers. Other notes include tangy barbecue pork ribs, bacon, coconut, toffee, oak, dark chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg, apple, pear, and orange marmalade. It is described as having a velvety palate with full-bodied richness.
Finish
Long and warming, with a balanced blend of fruit and oak. Lingering smokiness, astringent with a dry rub barbecue flavor and aroma. Sweet oak and dry smokiness. Also notes of cinnamon, floral sweetness, and lingering wood smoke.
