Description

The Glenfiddich Malt Master's Edition is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Speyside region, created by Malt Master Brian Kinsman. It is notable for its double maturation process, initially aged in traditional oak casks, then transferred to high-quality sherry casks for its final years of maturation. This labor-intensive process results in a rich and complex whisky. This particular release is Batch #08/16, bottled in 2016, and was a limited edition with 18,000 bottles released in the United States. It is presented as a gift pack with glasses.

Nose
Damp earth and whisky-soaked wood intertwine with deep vanilla and smoky embers. Elegant and fruity aromas of ripe apples, plums, cherries, and sweet malt meet vanilla, spices, and a subtle sherry note, with a slightly nutty hint and a touch of oak in the background.
Palate
Rich with complex flavors layered by double-maturation. Sherbet and zinginess slowly turn to spice. Tempting plum and cherry follow, with hints of toasted almonds and fruit cake. Full-bodied and balanced, with sweet dried fruits, toffee, honey, dark chocolate, a hint of cinnamon, and delicate oak spice.
Finish
Silky and smooth. Medium to long, soft and warm, with gentle spices, subtle sweetness, and a hint of oak lingering pleasantly.
