Description

A malt distillery in Speyside that distilled its first spirit on Christmas day in 1887 and has remained family-owned by William Grant & Sons ever since. The company was the first to make a single malt brand its flagship product and Glenfiddich was also the first distillery to open to the public. This 40 Year Old expression is part of the Rare Collection and is created using a unique 'remnant vatting' process, where remnants from previous bottlings are married with new casks, ensuring a continuous evolution of flavor.

Nose
Beautifully rich and aromatic with layer upon layer of dried fruits, dark chocolate, roasted coffee and ripe black cherries. Occasional wafts of gentle wood smoke, polished leather and cloves.
Palate
Silky smooth and luxuriously mouth coating. The initial flavours are intense dried fruits, Christmas cake, dates, raisins and stewed apples. Over time slightly dryish oak notes appear with some bitter chocolate and just the merest hint of peat.
Finish
Incredibly long lasting and complex – a truly memorable experience.
