Description

Founded in 1992 by Brian Cook, the Vintage Malt Whisky Company set out with the aim to produce a range of malt whiskies from the country's finest distilleries and to present them to independent importers worldwide. The company is perhaps best known for its Cooper's Choice range of single cask bottlings paying homage to the craftsmen who made the perfect casks by exploring cask finishes. This Glenglassaugh was distilled in May 2014 and matured for 7 years, with a finishing period in a single Banyuls dessert wine barrique. It was bottled in 2021 with a total outturn of 312 bottles from cask #101.

Nose
Smoky barley, zesty blossom, and earthy oak balance sweet caramel and vanilla. Gingerbread and prunes with delicious sweet spices.
Palate
Sweet raisins and sultanas, boozy trifle, silky honey, and a whiff of tropical pineapple follow orange zest, dried herbs, and rich, spicy oak. Sweet caramel with raisins, toffee and black cherries.
Finish
Smouldering ash, a touch of leather with sweet toffee, salted chocolate and waxy citrus. Long lasting - more ginger, caramel and spices.
