Description

A malt distillery located outside the village of Portsoy in the eastern Highland region, Glenglassaugh is part of The Benriach Distillery Company group and has been owned by the Brown-Forman Corporation since 2016. This is the second batch of the Octaves Peated series, composed of hand-selected octave casks made from a range of Bourbon, Pedro Ximénez, Oloroso and Amontillado Sherry and Port casks. The small 65-litre octave casks allow for greater interaction between wood and spirit, intensifying the flavour profile.

Nose
An intriguing balance of sweetness and savoury smoke, spiced by the sea. Salted caramel shortbread gives way to chilli chocolate and burning driftwood.
Palate
Sip apricot, ginger and mango salsa, becoming paprika-spiced yellow plum, layered with barbecue-smoked maple wood.
Finish
Savour roasted nuts and spiced fruit, as lingering wood smoke carries into the salted maple syrup finish.
