- Warm baked custard, peppered strawberries, digestive biscuits, soft oak, and a short sherbet tingle. Sweet on toffee and butterscotch with sherry influence, overripe banana, roasted and sugared nuts, dried fruit, milk chocolate, mint, and caffé latte. Soft stone fruits, baked apples, nutmeg, creamy vanilla custard, and Malted Milk biscuits.
- Palate
- Thick rosehip syrup, Demerara sugar developing into spicy, gooseberry dryness. Powerful, peppery attack, very sweet, outspoken sherry, sweet malt, spicy oak, raisins, Sevilla oranges, figs, pipe tobacco, and cherries. Dry caramel and chocolate aromas, sweeter than expected, dry fruits, spiciness, and elegant touches of walnut. Runny, buttery toffee, citrus zest, syrupy, fruit-studded flapjack, and banana bread.
- Finish
- Intensified syrup and green fruits. Raisins and banana return, wonderfully long. Long and warming, with lingering notes of fruit, oak, spice, a pleasant sweet aftertaste, and light nuttiness. Mellow oak, biscuity barley, juicy stone fruits, tangy citrus, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
