Nose
Full and sherried, with notes of dried plums, figs, sultanas, black pepper, nutmeg, burned caramel, orange pastries, and floral hints. Also dark caramel, chocolate, toasted oak, black cherries, creme brulee, cranberry juice, and a savoury note of fresh coriander.
Palate
Full-bodied, with cinnamon apples, toffee, candied ginger, tea notes, mustard, spicy peppers, oak wood, and hazelnuts. Also orange peel, bitter dark chocolate, honey, cloves, peppery mustard seeds, heavy tannins, dark fruit puree (dates, figs, cherries, raisins, plums), milk chocolate, molasses, and oriental spices.
Finish
Long, warm, and spicy, with lingering herbal-tea notes. Also chocolate, vanilla, stewed tea, more dried fruit, brown sugar, and caramelised banana. Slightly nippy and dry with dark fruit puree and spices.
