Description
The Glenlivet Captain's Reserve is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Speyside region, selectively finished in ex-Cognac casks. This no-age-statement expression was initially matured in a combination of American Oak ex-Bourbon and first-fill Sherry casks before undergoing an additional finish of at least six months in French Limousin oak casks that previously held Cognac. Named in honor of Captain William Smith Grant, great-grandson of Glenlivet's founder, George Smith, this release is a permanent addition to the distillery's core range, offering a rich and intense flavor profile. It was first released in 2018, initially in travel retail before a wider global release.
