Description

Signatory was founded by Andrew Symington in 1999. After discovering single cask single malt whisky while managing Prestonfield House Hotel, Andrew bought his first cask, a Glenlivet 1968, and is now one of the largest independent bottlers in Scotland. As of 2002, Signatory Vintage Whisky company is also the owner of the Edradour distillery. This 18-year-old Glenlivet was released by the independent bottler Signatory Vintage in the popular Cask Strength Collection. Matured for 18 years in a single first-fill Oloroso sherry butt, it is bottled at natural cask strength, without chill-filtration or added colour, delivering maximum flavour.

Rich, heavy sherry influence with notes of dried figs, Christmas pudding, worn leather, dark cocoa, apple, pear, honey, orchard fruit, vanilla, gentle oak, fruitcake, old cognac, walnut shells, orange peel, dark honey, and clove.
Palate
Full-bodied and chewy with explosive dark fruit (black cherry, plum), hot baking spices (cinnamon, clove), concentrated honey, powerful oak backbone, apple, citrus, caramel, treacle, Christmas cake, dark chocolate, roasted figs, dates in syrup, and spiced plum chutney.
Finish
Extremely long, warming, and sophisticated, with sherry sweetness giving way to dry cocoa powder, lingering spicy oak, smooth sweetness, subtle oak spice, leather, nutmeg, bitter cocoa, sweet pipe tobacco, spiced fruit loaf, and gentle oak tannin.
