Nose
Initially sweet with hints of brown sugar, toffee apple, and light herbal aromas, evolving into hard candy notes. Traces of cinnamon and aniseed add depth, with thick fruit jam, lemon curd, vanilla undertones, and aromatic fresh-roasted coffee beans balancing orange zest. Waxed papers, stewed pears, orange peel, cedar wood, and a light smoky undertone are also present, along with beehive notes (honey, pollen, beeswax), menthol, and tobacco leaves.
Palate
Silky smooth and mouth-coating, with thick golden syrup mingling with stewed fruit, rum and raisin, and touches of dark chocolate complementing delicate sherry flavors. Sweet brown sugar remains, while hints of walnut add a slightly drying aspect. Herbal teas, marmalade, slightly nutty notes, and a burst of fruity notes like apricots and plums are also noted.
Finish
Medium long, with crushed peppercorns, liquorice, pine wood, and mint. A refined and humble dram with a black peppercorn and lingering mature oak finish, along with echoes of dried apricots, a hint of tobacco, and delicate spices.
