A deep, dark, brooding dram that was initially matured in a bourbon hogshead before being transferred to a second-fill oloroso sherry butt for the remainder of its maturation. The nose was a complex mix of dark chocolate, dried fruits, and spices, with a hint of tobacco leaf. The palate was rich and full-bodied, with notes of treacle, coffee, and liquorice, balanced by a touch of orange peel and ginger. The finish was long and warming, with a lingering sweetness and a hint of smoke.
