A Speyside malt distillery that operates almost entirely in service of the blends Scotch brands of its owner, Diageo. While its single malt is regularly available from independent bottlers, the only permanent official release from the distillery has been its Flora & Fauna bottling. Nose
Sweet with chocolate limes, maple pecan Danish, apple strudel, pear drops and mango chutney. A whiff of freshly-sawn wood, then perfumed fruits, jelly babies, marmalade, ice lolly sticks, mango and Turkish delight.
Palate
Sweet and fruity, with a lovely mouthfeel. Pineapple, mango, peach, apricot, lemon and lime. Then some ginger, cinnamon and white pepper. A little water brings out more fruit and some coconut.
Finish
Long and fruity, with a hint of spice.
