Description

Glenmorangie A Tale of Cake is a limited edition Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, conceptualized by Dr. Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie's Director of Whisky Creation. This expression was inspired by joyful memories of cake and aims to capture those moments in a whisky. It is initially matured in ex-bourbon casks and then finished in rare Tokaji dessert wine casks from Hungary, which impart sweet, honeyed notes to the smooth and fruity whisky. Released in 2020, it is bottled at 46% ABV and is non-chill filtered.

Complex, rich and multi-layered, with passion fruit, peach, pear, mango, honeycomb, vanilla, almond, milk chocolate, lemon curd, baking bread, gentle sappy oak, flinty minerality, apricot, elderflower, honey pollen, ripe pineapple, marzipan, and banana cake.
Palate
Luscious and tart, with sweet, cake-like flavors of honey, white chocolate, apricot, almond, vanilla, pear, and balanced by tangy orange and menthol. Also notes of malt, dried orchard fruit, citrus sponge cake, roasted nuts, nutmeg, oak, copper, yellow raisins, mixed fruit in syrup, grapefruit, lemon, cinnamon, cream, liqueur, tea cake, Dundee cake, and banana cake.
Finish
Medium-long with lingering honeycomb, chocolate almond, pecan nuts, fruit, oak, citrus, waxy vanilla, white pepper, pineapple, mint, bubble gum, sweet coffee, orange marmalade, peaches cooked in wine, Slivovitz, and chocolate.
