Description

Glenmorangie A Tale Of The Forest is a limited-edition release, crafted according to an ancient method of kilning barley with forest fuel. Inspired by Dr. Bill Lumsden's walks in the woods near his home, the barley has been kilned using juniper berries, birch bark and heather blossom, married with a little peat. The whisky was then aged in bourbon casks, including many refill casks, allowing the spirit's flavors to shine through.

Forest floor notes with oily pine and juniper, nutty malt, woody spice, and murmurs of smoke. Pine needles and fresh herbs dominate, backed by malty sweetness, oily nuts, and a hint of smoke. Subtle anise and 'Herbes de Provence' mingle with damp oak.
Palate
Zesty menthol and orange peels, hints of hibiscus, cloves, and vanilla pod with a backdrop of fennel, anise, and smoked toffee. Full-bodied, oily texture bursts with orange zest, vanilla-malt sweetness, and earthy moss. Lightweight smoke and roasted nuts balance botanical influence.
Finish
Candied citrus fruits, more pine and robust barley tangling with delicate oak char and mint chocolate. Long, warming, and engaging with lemon, orange, and a soft hint of oak. Juniper, wintergreen, orange zest, and brine.
