Description

Glenmorangie Allta is the tenth limited-edition release in Glenmorangie's Private Edition series. This unique single malt was created using a wild yeast (Saccharomyces diaemath) discovered growing on Glenmorangie's own Cadboll barley. Allta, meaning 'wild' in Scots Gaelic, highlights the importance of yeast in developing the myriad flavours found in Scotch whisky. It was matured primarily in second-fill ex-bourbon barrels to allow the spirit's character, influenced by the wild yeast, to shine through without being overpowered by the wood.
