Description

The Glenmorangie 12 Year Old Calvados Cask Finish is the fifth release in the Barrel Select Release series of small-batch single malts. This expression, led by Dr. Bill Lumsden, explores unique cask finishes, being Glenmorangie's first release finished in French Calvados casks. The whisky initially matured for over 10 years in American white oak bourbon casks before a two-year finish in casks that previously held Calvados du Pays d'Auge from Normandy for twenty years. This process imparts elegant orchard notes, complementing Glenmorangie's fruity style with scents of baked pears, vanilla, and jasmine, and tastes of toffee apples, lemon balsam, and spice.
