Description

The Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1997 is the seventh release in the Bond House No. 1 collection, a series celebrating Glenmorangie's most prestigious aged whiskies. This 24-year-old single malt was distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2021. It was initially matured for a decade in bourbon barrels before a parcel was transferred for 13 years into rare Bordeaux red wine casks from Château Montrose. The final whisky is a complex marriage of casks, also including whisky finished in Oloroso sherry casks, resulting in a vivacious and floral profile with red fruits and candied sweetness.

Medium-light texture, creamy, with spicy ginger, flower petals, honey ice cream, buttercream, winey sweetness, zingy candy, soft exotic oak, sandalwood, banana, kiwi, sweet candy flavors, pineapple chunks, pears, mandarin segments in fruit jelly, sweet ginger, chili notes, almond marzipan, and vanilla toffee apple.
Finish
Medium-length, sweet, rich, long, delicately spicy, filled with honeyed creaminess and fruit, grapefruit soda, peach nectar, ginger juice, and lingering lavender ice cream and vanilla fudge.
