Description

Distilled in 1991 and bottled in 2002, this Glenmorangie is an 11-year-old Highland single malt. It is a classic example of Glenmorangie distillery's early experiments with different types of wood, initially matured in ex-bourbon barrels and then finished in virgin Missouri Oak casks. This experimental release yielded 1,000 bottles and is noted for its fabulous Bourbon-esque malt character.

Nose
Oak-forward and spicy. Savoury smoke, glazed grilled salmon. Cinnamon, vanilla, Oreos, fruit gummy candies, seed bread.
Palate
Medium-thick texture, some heat. Sweet with super-ripe cantaloupe, maraschino cherries, maple syrup. Bittersweet oak and vanilla with milder spice. Fragrant notes of grapefruit, rosemary, and lavender.
Finish
More cantaloupe, peach. Baking spices, cayenne, dark chocolate. Earthier flavours, dead leaves, black pepper, Tootsie Rolls, lavender.
