Description

The Glenmorangie Port Wood Finish is a refined Highland single malt, part of Glenmorangie's pioneering Wood Finish Series from the late 1990s and early 2000s. This expression was initially matured in American oak bourbon casks before undergoing an extended finishing period in ex-Port wine casks, imparting deeper fruitiness, warmth, and a luxurious mouthfeel. It was launched in 1994 and was generally a 12-year-old expression, later replaced by the Quinta Ruban around 2007.

Palate
Silky and well-balanced, offering flavors of raspberry compote, dark chocolate, honeyed malt, and spiced orange. The influence of the Port casks provides a velvety texture with hints of toasted nuts and soft tannins, along with complex dark fruit, cinnamon, ginger, and a touch of pepper.
Finish
Long and warming, with lingering notes of red fruit preserves, oak spice, and a delicate touch of cocoa and cinnamon. It can also present notes of raisins, vanilla, and a lingering pepper burn.
