Description

A litre bottle of Glenmorangie Pride 28 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky. This was distilled in 1981, finished in Sauternes casks before being bottled in 2010. It is presented in a Baccarat Crystal decanter and comes in a presentation box with a certificate of authenticity. This is bottle number 788 of 1000 bottles. Glenmorangie Pride 1981 is the culmination of 28 years of passion, patience and artistry, with the last 10 years spent extra-maturing in prized Sauternes casks from Chateau d'Yquem.

Nose
Intense, pungent, and earthy, with complex notes of polished old furniture, spices, oak tannins, and licorice. Also features captivating aromas of poached pears, baked pineapple sponge, demerara sugar, nutmeg, aniseed, maple syrup, hazelnuts, and marshmallow.
Palate
Full-bodied and waxy, with flavors of sherbet, honey, baked apple, orange marmalade, and sultana. Layers of delicious desserts are present, alongside honeydew melon, lemon vanilla madeleines, oak tannins, hints of French toast, licorice, lemon, clove, nutmeg, olive oil, sourdough, and eucalyptus.
Finish
Long, succulent, and sweet, with lingering notes of sultanas, toasted almonds, lemon, coconut desserts, and a hint of smoke. The mouth flavors linger for an eternity, bringing with them peat and smacks of rich sherbet.
