Description

Glenmorangie Signet Reserve is an exceptionally refined and more decadent edition of the award-winning Glenmorangie Signet. To create this special malt, parcels of matured Signet are meticulously selected and aged for an additional 12 months in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, deepening the whisky's complexity and richness. The original Signet, first released in 2008, was inspired by the flavour of freshly brewed coffee and uses high-roast 'chocolate' malted barley, with its spirit distilled once a year. The Signet Reserve takes less than 5% of the signature Signet liquid, further matured in PX Sherry Casks, culminating in a release of highly limited quantities each year. It is aged in a combination of bourbon, sherry, and virgin oak casks, balanced by some of Glenmorangie's oldest stocks.

Nose
Deep and powerful aromas of dark chocolate sponge cake and intense espresso coffee, mixing with hazelnut cream, orange zest, muscovado sugar, spices, aniseed, roast fruit, and dark sugar.
Palate
A big mouthcoating whisky with a texture that coats the tastebuds from the first sip. Notes of chocolate truffles, toffee, treacle, fudge, Turkish coffee, roasted coffee beans, toasted cinnamon, orange oil, citrus, milk chocolate raisins, and raspberry.
Finish
Incredibly complex flavours of coffee and chocolate develop in the lengthy finish. More creamy toffee eventually finishes in the familiar flavour of tiramisu, with a rich and complex oak-heavy character and lingering dark chocolate and mocha notes.
