Description

Glenmorangie 14 Year Old Quinta Ruban is a Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, part of Glenmorangie's 'Extra Matured' range. It is initially aged for 10 years in ex-bourbon casks before being finished for four additional years in specially selected ruby port pipes from the Ruban Estate in Portugal. This non-chill filtered whisky is bottled at 46% ABV and is known for its rich, velvety, and fruity character with notes of chocolate and orange. It was released in 2019, succeeding a 12-year-old version.

Aromas of candy, vanilla, chocolate, fruits (tangerine, Seville oranges, peach, apple, pear, raisins, pineapple, red fruit like raspberry/strawberry), mint, sandalwood, walnut, nutmeg, spice, cedar, milky coffee, almond pastries, crème brûlée, and a hint of leather/hay.
Palate
Velvety and smooth mouthfeel. Flavors of mint chocolate, walnuts, orange (oil, citrus, Seville), dark chocolate, fruits (dried dark fruit, plum, apricot, pear, blackcurrant, raisin, strawberry, cherry, fig), toffee, caramel, marzipan, candied pecans, molasses cookies, cocoa, baking spice (cinnamon, clove, cardamom), ginger, oak, leather, coffee, Turkish delight, rose, and a slight pepperiness.
Finish
Medium to long. Lingering notes of dark chocolate, mint, oak spices, stewed berries, orange, nutty port wine characteristics, pepper, ginger, tart cherry pie, sweet vermouth, and a buttery character.
