Description
Hidden in a tree-lined gorge, the Glenrothes distillery is nestled in the core of the Speyside region, a stone's throw from the Burn of Rothes and the Mannoch Hills. Producing Malt Whiskys using exact replicas of the original 1879 pot stills, the Glenrothes hallmark is to use Scottish barley, malted in traditional Saladin boxes. The product is bottled in a characteristic, squat, bulbous vessel. This is a complex and well-rounded expression, matured only in sherry-seasoned oak casks, with a high proportion of first fill. It is bottled in natural color with a character of sweet vanilla, pear and fresh ginger.
