Description

This is a 13-year-old Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the Glenrothes distillery, distilled in 2004 and bottled in 2017 by independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail as part of their Exclusive series. It was matured in a refill Bourbon Barrel (cask 4559) and bottled at 50.0% ABV. This single cask release yielded 245 bottles and was exclusively bottled for The Whisky Mercenary.

Nose
Quite herbal, almost vegetal, with green notes, ferns, bushes, bittersweet notes of gooseberries, white berries, young pear skin, and a hint of coconut.
Palate
Wonderfully round and creamy, almost syrupy. Bittersweet with a touch of sour grapefruit, peppery, milk chocolate midpalate, and coconut.
Finish
Medium long, warm, and leaning towards tropical fruit.
