Description

A 10-year-old Glenrothes 2012 bottled in 2022 without colouring or chill filtration by Alistair Walker for Batch 11 of their Infrequent Flyers series. This 2012 Glenrothes 10-year-old clocks at a mighty 62.8%, as Glenrothes don't dilute their spirit before filling to cask, so this will pack plenty of punch. This Glenrothes is the only release in Infrequent Flyers Batch 11 that hasn't been cask finished, slumbering undisturbed for its entire ageing period in a refill sherry butt that yielded a generous 683 bottles.

Nose
A very heavy nose. Red wine notes. Fruity - red plums and black grapes (but no twisted melons, man). Boiled sweets, very subtle dark chocolate notes and a slight hint of sweet BBQ sauce.
Palate
Sweet and fruity, but not overwhelmingly so - it's a refill, so the foot is slightly off the gas. Honeycomb, Demerara sugar, marzipan, stewed sultanas and cinnamon spice.
Finish
Concludes with a touch of cracked black pepper.
