Description
The Glenrothes Peated Cask Reserve is an intriguing single malt Scotch whisky from the Speyside region, representing a unique expression from the distillery. It was created by selecting and marrying 1992 Vintage casks, which were initially matured in refill American Oak hogsheads, including ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks. The whisky then underwent a finishing period of about nine months in ex-Islay peated casks, adding a subtle peat influence without overpowering the classic Glenrothes character. This innovative approach was inspired by the distillery's historical association with the Islay Distillery Co. in 1887. This no-age-statement release was part of the Reserve Collection and was launched around 2015-2016.
