Description

The Glenrothes Select Reserve is a non-age statement, non-vintage single malt Scotch whisky from the Speyside region of Scotland. It was the first non-vintage bottling released by Glenrothes, launched in 2005, and was selected by Malt Master John Ramsay to embody the distillery's house style. It is a blend of whiskies from different vintages matured in ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks, including European Oloroso sherry and American oak. This expression aims to maintain a consistent style year on year, focusing on flavors and quality rather than age.

Clean, strong minerality, and crisp. Soft fruits, peach cream, apple peel, shortbread, and a touch of citrus zest.
Palate
The minerality on the nose continues. Youthful sweetness, green apple, vanilla, honeysuckle, slight notes of sulfur and a slight metallic tinge.
Finish
More bite on the finish where the spice comes to life – even at 43% ABV. Medium length with white pepper, dry chili flakes, and slightly toasted wood.
