The coconut and tropical fruits give this a fruit-led opening that feels easy to connect with, while the palate brings a more grounded turn through cedar wood, cinnamon and nutmeg. I like that contrast: the fruit keeps the character open and welcoming, and the dry spices and vanilla add detail without taking over. Lingering spice and oak sound like a fitting close to this combination. It reads as a composed, mature Speyside single malt, with enough fruit to keep the wood and spice from feeling one-note.

Coconut and tropical fruits suggest a sweeter, fruit-led nose, while cedar, dry spices, cinnamon and nutmeg give the palate a firmer counterweight. Vanilla sits alongside those more savoury and spicy notes rather than defining the whole picture. The lingering spice and oak carry that balance through the finish. I’m drawn to this kind of contrast: the sweeter elements have structure around them, making the character feel composed rather than simply fruit-forward.
