Description

A Speyside malt distillery that is today part of the Edrington Group following its acquisition of Highland Distillers in 1999. Unusually, the distillery and its brand had different owners between 2010 and 2017 when the label was briefly sold to Berry Brothers & Rudd in London. This Glenrothes 40 Year Old was distilled in December 1978 in copper pot stills that were decommissioned soon after. It was matured in a combination of sherry seasoned and ex-bourbon casks and bottled in 2019 as part of the Soleo Collection. Only 594 bottles were released.
