Glenrothes UK Exclusives Single Cask series 39 Year Old, Bourbon Cask, Cask #2677, 2015, 47.4%

This single cask expression from Speyside's Glenrothes distillery was distilled on 26th February 1976 and aged for almost 40 years in a second-fill American oak ex-bourbon hogshead before bottling in 2015. Only 238 bottles have been produced from cask #2677 at a strength of 47.4% abv, presented on a wooden plinth with a book about the limited edition release. The Glenrothes distillery is nestled in the core of the Speyside region, a stone's throw from the Burn of Rothes and the Mannoch Hills. Producing malt whiskies using exact replicas of the original 1879 pot stills, the Glenrothes hallmark is to use Scottish barley, malted in traditional Saladin boxes.
