Description

A 14-year-old Glentauchers 2008 bottled by North Star Spirits in late 2022 without colouring or chill filtration for their 21st Cask Series. This 2008 Glentauchers 14-year-old came from a single Oloroso sherry butt cask that yielded a whopping 708 bottles at its equally whopping 58.1% cask strength. Glentauchers is a much underrated distillery, and this looks like great value.

Brand new tupperware filled with empire biscuits and victoria sponge; sourdough crumpets and creamy chocolate lead to plump raisins and freshly baked sponge cake; bright and delicate aromas of orchard fruit and dates; aromas of Victoria sponge cake and biscuits fill the nose.
Palate
Similar to a leather Rive Droite riding crop soaked in sherry, spanking your taste buds; heaps of dried, sherry-soaked fruit arrives on the palate, with dates, sultanas, and prunes, supported by candied nuts and iced fingers; notes of plum, pecan pie and toffee; notes of leather, dried fruit, rich sherry, toasted oak and vanilla throughout the palate.
Finish
Thick, long, dry and very naughty; dense drying oak lingers for the finish, backed by rich baking spice and drizzles of burnt caramel; lingering.
