A single malt Scotch whisky from the Glentauchers distillery, independently bottled by Claxton's as part of 'The Single Cask' series. Distilled in 1996 and aged for 20 years in a Bourbon Barrel, it was bottled in 2016 at a cask strength of 51.1% ABV. This release is natural colour and non-chill filtered, with an outturn of 744 bottles.

the creamy vanilla and buttery shortbread sound inviting, while lemon and spicy oak bring a brighter, drier edge. The notes don’t establish a smoke level, so I’d keep the focus on that contrast rather than assume a smoky character.
