Description

A Highland malt distillery and one of the oldest in Scotland, founded in 1763. Its modern history begins in 1959 when saved from closure by James Fairlie, and it is today owned by Glenturret Holding, a joint venture between the Lalique Group and Swiss businessman, Hansjörg Wyss.

Nose
beautifully fruity, with sweet pineapple and a strawberry & cream combination. Loads of very ripe mirabelles, nectarines and apricot jams. Hints of honey and golden syrup. Vanilla biscuits. A hint of sandalwood and eucalyptus in the background. Very good, very creamy with slight tropical hints.
Palate
same feeling of plums and apricots, with more zesty fruits now, grapefruit and bergamot. A good dose of oak as well – plain oak, as well as minty notes, wax and liquorice. A little ginger.
Finish
long, bittersweet, with oak resin, clove and grapefruit.
