Nose
Superb combination of dark chocolate and prunes, with faint whiffs of old roses, oxtail bouillon, thuja wood, roasted nuts, old balsamic vinegar, rancio and blackberry jam. More smoke, plasticine, black pipe tobacco and pine sap, roasted pine nuts.
Palate
Surprisingly fresh and fruity despite obvious oakiness. Cardamom, toffee, liqueur chocolates, plain dark chocolate, roasted pecans, nusswasser, cinchona, Jägermeister, peppermint.
Finish
Long, obviously drier but not excessively tannic or drying. Nice signature on orange marmalade and pepper.
