Description

From Alwar Distillery, this is an Indian single malt crafted in Rajasthan, India, using locally sourced six-row barley. After an initial maturation in ex-bourbon barrels, it is finished in cherry wood casks, some of which are seasoned with Indian botanicals like Rasna and Jatamansi. The arid climate of Rajasthan accelerates maturation, contributing to its unique flavor profile. Nose
Impressive and charming, with notes of rum-soaked raisins, burnt caramel, creamy vanilla, orange liqueur, cinnamon, lime zest, milk chocolate, tempered dark chocolate, and a touch of sea salt. Delicate floral notes, soft stone and orchard fruits, orange blossom water, kumquat, candied figs, pepper, mace, dry apricots, and a delicate hint of pandan are also present.
Palate
Balanced and rich, offering dried mango slices, vanilla custard, black liquorice, cardamom, nutmeg, rich cacao, fresh red apples, and a whisper of lime zest. Flavors of cherry, raisin, toffee, apple, pear, yellow plum, red gooseberry, spiced candies, and flambeed Christmas pudding with a light, crisp, and buttery mouthfeel are also evident.
Finish
Medium-long and elegant, with citrus and apple notes shining through. A pleasant glow of liquorice, honey, and vanilla, with whispers of milk and dark chocolate. It is oaky, gently drying, crisp, lightly fruity, and leaves a soft warmth with almost no tannic bite.
