Description
Company founder William Grant first began to sell blended whisky in 1898, a dozen years after the Grant family had established Glenfiddich distillery in the village of Dufftown. A number of names were given to early blends created by Grants, however, the one that stuck, was Standfast after the Grant clan motto 'Standfast Craigellachie!'. In 1903 William Grant recruited his son-in-law Charles Gordon. Stand Fast is a blended Scotch whisky from the William Grant & Sons distillery. It is a blend of 15 single malt whiskies, of which the main component is Speyside malt from the Glenfiddich distillery. The whisky is matured in a combination of American oak, ex-Sherry and ex-Bourbon casks. This is an old iconic bottling from William Grant and Sons' for their 'Stand Fast' blended whisky in the triangular bottle, believed to be released sometime in the 1980s. It is supposedly a blend of Girvan, Balvenie and Glenfiddich.
