A smouldering, smoky nose with toffee apples, rancio, Armagnac, ginger and nutmeg, plum, cigar humidor, and caramel, with soft wafts of forest smoke, dried herbs, green apple, pear, mint, eucalyptus, honeyed malt, and polished oak.
Palate
A rich, sherried palate with wood smoke, linseed, rhubarb and custard sweets, raspberries and walnut, a hint of spearmint, creme brulee, sage, lavender, baked pineapple, ripe orchard fruit, gentle peat smoke, sweet malt, herbal freshness, soft vanilla, and seasoned oak.
Finish
Long, unforgettable, and bittersweet, with herbal, nutty notes, pleasantly smoked, a hint of cypress (hinoki), lingering traces of gentle smoke, dry herbs, and mature oak fading slowly into a clean, slightly sweet, and cooling afterglow.
