Description

The second malt distillery to be built in Japan by Suntory, Hakushu was opened in 1973. The original facility was replaced by a new one in 1981 and it has the ability to produce a range of different spirit styles. This 'Story of the Distillery 2025 Edition' is the second release in a celebrated series that showcases the connection between nature and craftsmanship, and is a limited edition single malt aged in bourbon barrels. The Hakushu single malt brand tends to showcase its peated production.

Aromas of pineapple, vanilla cream, and roasted green tea, with notes of peat, honey drizzled and char-grilled fruits, papaya, and oak spice.
Palate
Delicate, light, and sweet, reminiscent of wasanbon sugar, with a hint of bitterness, balanced and rich flavors, and a clean, gentle smokiness. Tropical fruits, smoke, and peat are also present.
Finish
A long, lingering aftertaste with smoky embers, subtle bitterness, and sweet cold ash.
