For a period, Campbeltown was the undisputed Whisky Capital of the World, boasting over 30 distilleries operating simultaneously at its peak. Nose
Macerated blackberries, red grape, fresh raspberries, light brown sugar, orange marmalade, overdone biscuits, boozy Christmas cake, ginger snaps, port-forward with mellow Hazelburn character and a bit of funkiness. With air, tea leaves, raisins, and strawberry syrup emerge.
Palate
Thick and syrupy mouthfeel with dark cherry, milk chocolate, caramel, toffee, honey, muscovado sugar, almond paste, blackcurrant cordial, and old, oxidised tawny port dryness. Alcohol is well-balanced with warm cinnamon and clove. With air, milky coffee and plum notes appear.
Finish
Lingering warm oak spice and red apple skins. Long and satisfying with sweet port, red fruit, and delicate spice, leaving an impression of elegance and depth.
