Description
This unusual decanter of Hibiki was bottled in 1990 to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Japan Telephone, the national corporation established in 1890 that introduced the telephone to the Japanese public. The whisky is presented in a ceramic decanter with a plastic ornament inspired by a telephone model from 1927, complete with a functioning dial. A blend of over ten malts and grains, first released by Suntory in 1989. The recipe features whiskies from Yamazaki, Hakushu, and Chita, all aged in five types of cask. The bottle famously always has 24 facets representing the 24 seasons of the Japanese lunar calendar.
