Description

From Scotland's oldest independent bottler, Cadenhead's, comes this bottling of Highland single malt Scotch whisky under their Enigma range. Distilled at an undisclosed Highland distillery in 2009 and matured for 14 years in a mix of refill Oloroso sherry butts and refill bourbon hogsheads before being bottled in 2024 at natural cask strength.

Nose
Smoky and enticing, with aromas of crisp bacon, vanilla custard, banana fritter and butterscotch mousse. Hints of toasted cereal, dried cranberry and barley sweetness lift the aroma.
Palate
Medium-full bodied with vibrant malt character. Flavours of smouldering embers, honeycomb, treacle and gingerbread unfold, balanced by oak spice and a touch of saline minerality.
Finish
Long and warming—nutmeg, dark syrup and soft smoke linger, leaving a savoury, slightly mineral finish that evokes damp earth and gorse bush after rain.
